In what came as a bit of a shocker, data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) shows that the rate at which stalled projects are being abandoned has risen this year. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, CMIE MD and CEO Mahesh Vyas said that the percentage of stalled projects too has increased from single digits to 12.3 percent now. He maintained that projects were being stalled due to weakness in the overall business environment, as opposed to sector-specific issues or those related to land acquisition etc. On the flip side, commissioning in FY15 rose to an all-time high at Rs 4.6 trillion.
